In a startling on-air twist, Tucker Carlson says a former FBI colleague told him the Butler investigation was halted at the highest level — and the reaction was explosive. Read on to discover the full story!
Carlson told a podcast audience he was told by Dan Bongino that President Trump ordered the probe into the July 2024 Butler shooting to be closed. He said he also came into social posts allegedly from shooter Thomas Matthew Crooks and described texts and calls he claims back up the tip.
Bongino, who left the FBI in January 2026, responded on his show by denying Carlson's account, calling the claim false and accusing Carlson of lying. Carlson said Bongino became “hysterical” during their exchanges and directed him to take questions to Trump.
