Centenarians were invited to cut a cake decorated with a gold "100" while a band played "Happy Birthday." The king and queen personally presented centenary cards, free messages offered to British nationals turning 100, 105 and beyond. The royal household also posed for a rare group photo of all working members.
The centenary weekend included a visit to the King’s Gallery exhibition "Queen Elizabeth II: Her Life in Style" and Princess Anne opening The Queen Elizabeth II Garden in Regent's Park. King Charles and Queen Camilla also viewed proposed designs for a national memorial. The late monarch, who died in 2022 at 96, would have turned 100 on April 21.
